KINGS BEACH
A semi-private, east facing beach – a great place to swim, fish, sunbake, laze about, play cricket, or…. get engaged or married.

CLIFF TOP WALK
For coastal drama, flora and fauna and sheer wilderness qualities, walking the Heysen Trail to the immediate west of the Retreat is on a par with any walk in Australia. Take a day hike along the cliff top to Newland Head Conservation Park and Waitpinga Beach…or simply take a leisurely walk along the coastal trails.

SWIM IN THE ABORIGINAL FISH TRAP
The stone walled pool on Kings Beach (immediately below the Retreats) was used as a fish trap by the ancestors of the Aboriginal people of the area. This is a beautiful and protected place to swim, snorkel, watch the sun come up, practice yoga or Tai Chi – whatever suits you! West Island and the Bluff are spectacular backdrops to Kings Beach.

VISIT THE LOCAL FARMERS MARKET
Victor Harbor Farmers Market takes place every Saturday morning  at Grosvener Gardens (opposite Victor Central Shopping Centre on Torrens Street). Stock up with local specialties for a lazy lunch in the all-weather conservatory in your retreat. Alternatively you may like to take a picnic on Kings Beach or while hiking along the clifftops on the Heysen Trail. The more distant Willunga Farmers Market is also held every Saturday morning at Willunga, in the heart of the Fleurieu’s wine and produce region.

WALK TO THE BLUFF FOR BREAKFAST OR LUNCH
Many people enjoy the 40 minute walk to the Bluff and reward themselves with breakfast, lunch or just a coffee or drink at Whalers Inn where they can relax on the deck overlooking Encounter Bay. It pays to book first if you plan to have a meal.

THE BIG DUCK BOAT TOURS
The Big Duck Tour operates from Victor Harbor and provides an ocean adventure experience. Explore inaccessible areas of coastline and islands in an 11.3 metre inflatable boat (maximum 27 passengers). Spot seals, dolphins, seabirds and whales (in season) in their natural environments.  Spray jackets and life jackets are provided.
